A new French documentary about industrial food and how it is bad for us

Posted by Frenya Thu, 04 Feb 2010 22:05:00 GMT

I just got the link to see the trailer of a new documentary called “Nos enfants nous accuseront”(Our children will accuse us). It is a French documentary but the trailer is entirely subtitled in English. Apparently, it is not sure yet whether it will be released in theaters, but the authors hope that by having as many people as possible going to the trailer page, they will have enough weight to convince the distributors. After watching the trailer, it looks like what they show about France can be applied anywhere in the world… industrial, mass production of food forces the farmers to use tons of chemicals that lead to more and more diseases in Humans. On speaker at UNESCO claimed that the new generation will be less healthy than our generation… looking at what’s going on, I can believe it.

Having good, nutritious, healthy food should be everybody’s priority and especially when you have to feed children.

Fortunately, more and more people know that organic food is better than “traditionally” grown food (even if few scientific reports show that for sure). Organic food is still a bit more expensive and not as available than “traditional” food, but hopefully with a growing demand, it will become more available… although we also need to pay attention as to how the organic food was produced. Producing organic food without using sustainable techniques and good treatment of the cattle is not worth it.

We need to take good care of the world in order to make sure that it takes good care of us.

Happy First Birthday

Posted by Frenya Thu, 04 Feb 2010 21:50:00 GMT

About 2 weeks ago, Paul has turned 1! Already! Time flies… He enjoyed tremendously some vanilla ice cream as well as some cake.

Paul is doing great and getting ready to walk but is not quite there yet.

Il y a environ 2 semaines, Paul a eu 1 an!

News from Paul / Nouvelles de Paul

Posted by Frenya Mon, 21 Dec 2009 21:32:00 GMT

Well, it has been a while since my last post. Time flies and it is tough to catch it!

Anyhow, Paul is growing fast. He is now 11 months old and ready to walk soon. He is a fast crawler and cruises so well along anything that he can hang on. I am attaching two recent pictures. On the first, he is playing with his activities table. The second one was taken just few days ago when he got baptized.

Happy 7 months / Joyeux 7 mois

Posted by Frenya Fri, 21 Aug 2009 12:11:00 GMT

Paul celebrated his 7 months a few days ago. The weather was so nice that he got to play in his little pool, catching rubber dukky. Now that solid food is part of Paul’s regular diet, we extended his bib collection with one where the monkey seems to be as “starving” as our little guy!

New seat / Nouveau siège

Posted by Frenya Fri, 24 Jul 2009 14:26:00 GMT

Paul has started to eat solid food and he recently got a booster seat to help him seat by the table. He likes the large tray he has in front of him… a perfect musical instrument, the banging and smashing kind!

Last week-end, Paul turned 6 months old… time flies! We had a fun time visiting the Saint Gaudens National Park with a friend who was visiting from Maine. Paul loved looking at all the flowers.

Paul can roll! / Paul peut rouler

Posted by Frenya Mon, 29 Jun 2009 15:49:00 GMT

A little over a week ago, Paul started rolling from his tummy to his back and then 5 days ago, he managed to roll from his back to his tummy (he found the way to put his arm out of the way!). It will not be long before he can really go places… we better pay attention to the little guy now!

Here is a “rolling” sequence.

A special Father's day / Une fête des pères spéciale

Posted by Frenya Mon, 29 Jun 2009 15:25:00 GMT

June 21st was Father’s day. To celebrate Eric’s first Daddy’s day, we all went for a train ride from White River Junction to Thretford in an old train car. The round trip lasted about 2hrs and allowed us to have a great view of the Connecticut river. That was Paul’s first train ride and he loved it! He refused to nap during the entire time… “too many things to look at and discover” he said. His eyes were going everywhere, trying to memorize as much as possible.

Here are a couple of shots from the trip.

Push-up time / Le temps des pompes

Posted by Frenya Wed, 10 Jun 2009 14:13:00 GMT

Many things happened this past month, Paul is growing so fast, it is incredible. He is really good at grabbing things and tasting everything he touches, but he is also getting better at doing some push-ups and getting his arms strong.

Seating is fun! / S'asseoir est amusant!

Posted by Frenya Wed, 29 Apr 2009 12:59:00 GMT

Paul likes to seat on the couch and he can actually stay upright for a little while. He is growing up fast!
